We were delighted to welcome Michael Moylan to the school on Tuesday, Sept 13th, as part of the Heritage in Schools scheme. Michael worked with all classes during the day, and they all thoroughly enjoyed his visit. He told stories to the infants, discussed life in the past with 1st/2nd and Vikings with 3rd/4th. The children loved the chance to dress up and examine replicas from the past.
As part of the Clonbullogue Community Celebration event, Michael facilitated a session where older people from the community shared their memories of Clonbullogue in the past, with 5th/6th class. Michael's huge range of artefacts from the mid 20th century and earlier helped to jog people's minds about how much everyday life has changed, and how many household utensils and implements are no longer needed. We are very appreciative of all those community members who organised, attended and contributed on the day.
