As part of our Catholic ethos, we aim to foster an awareness of, and generosity towards, those less fortunate in our world. To this end, we participate in a number of charitable events each year, for example the 'Team Hope' Christmas Shoebox appeal, and the Cheerios Childline Breakfast morning. It is important also that children realise that doing good in the world does not all revolve around the collection of money and so for instance our Confirmation pupils are encouraged to undertake 'random acts of kindness'.
Team Hope
Every November the children are invited to fill a shoebox with toys/clothes/colouring materials etc. to send, in conjunction with the Team Hope appeal, to children who may not get many gifts at Christmas time. This is a lovely meaningful way to get into the Christmas spirit.
Childline Breakfast morning
We were very pleased to raise 171 euros for Childline as a result of our third Cheerios Breakfast morning in October 2018. Thanks to Mrs Griffin for organising it.

Offaly Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals
3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes were very interested in the presentation given by members of the OSPCA when they visited the school in October 2016. The children donated cat and dog food, bedding, leads etc. in order to help the charity in its work.
