Windfarm Walk, 2020
Unfortunately the Windfarm Walk planned for March 2020 had to be cancelled due to Covid, but we hope it will take place during the 2022/23 school year.
Windfarm Walk, 2018
During the week of April 30th 2018 the six schools in the parish of Clonbullogue/Rhode participated in a 5km sponsored walk at Mountlucas Windfarm kindly supported by Bord Na Móna. We walked/ran on Monday April 30th and Friday May 4th and were lucky with the weather on both days. While it was not a race, Ms Griffin organised a 'Couch to 5K' in school in the eight weeks preceding the event, and most of the senior children ran the 5km. Well done to Sean Moran and Tommy Burns who were first back on Monday, and to Kevin Dempsey and Oisin Dempsey who were first back on the Friday. Thanks to all the parents who walked with us, to all who contributed to the sponsorship cards, and to the team at Mountlucas (especially Catherine Swaine) who helped make the mornings so enjoyable.
Thanks also to Tony McKenna, from Bord na Móna, who visited the six schools in the lead up to the walk and talked to the children about the history of the local bogs and Bord na Móna's work in the locality over the past sixty years.

Windfarm Walk 2017
The first Clonbullogue/Rhode Parish Schools Windfarm Walk took place during the week of April 3rd-7th 2017, with all the pupils and staff from Rhode NS, Ballybryan NS, Croghan NS, Bracknagh NS, Walsh Island NS and Clonbullogue NS involved in walking or running the 5K track at Mount Lucas. Huge thanks to everyone involved, most especially Catherine Swaine and the team at Bord na Móna for helping organise the day, and for their generous sponsorship to all the schools involved.
