We, in St Patrick’s NS Clonbullogue, strive to provide a welcoming school environment that is inclusive, fun, creative and safe. All members of the school community are encouraged to be co-operative and courteous to each other. The ultimate aspiration of the school is to prepare our pupils to live content and happy lives.
We endeavour to provide a high quality education, which develops the full potential of each child, with due regard to individual difference. Pupils are encouraged, affirmed, given responsibility and provided with opportunities to experience success. We are committed to catering for differing needs to the best of our ability.
Pupils in St Patrick’s NS are encouraged to explore and appreciate their local natural and human environments. We seek to empower each child to contribute their talents and skills to their local community and to society in general. To assist our pupils in becoming well- functioning members of society we encourage them to become increasingly self-motivated, self-disciplined and resilient as they progress through the school.
All students are encouraged to value their physical and mental health. We acknowledge the value of physical activity for long term happiness and confidence. The development of the senses to appreciate the beauty inherent in art, music and the natural world is recognised as fundamental to our vision.
Our pupils are taught to be inclusive and respectful of all cultures, while taking pride in Irish customs and traditions. We are a Catholic school under the trusteeship of the Catholic bishop of Kildare and Leighlin. In accordance with this Christian perspective, we welcome pupils of all religions or none, and are committed to the spiritual development of each pupil, regardless of their religious beliefs. We hope that the school will be at the heart of the local community.
The school aims to work in partnership with parents to facilitate the moral and social development of their children. A sense of fairness, mutual respect and genuine effort characterises St Patrick’s NS.
It is the responsibility of every member of the school community, whether pupil, parent or staff member, to ensure that this vision is realised every day in our school.
This vision statement was articulated by the teaching staff of St Patrick's NS in the context of the traditions of the school and Clonbullogue, and having regard to the opinions of parents, as expressed through their written statements in June 2016.
